ANTT – Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (eLearning Practical Assessment)
 
This booking includes both a self-paced eLearning component and a face-to-face practical assessment. Participants must successfully complete both components to be deemed competent. Certificates are issued only upon successful completion of the online learning, assessment, and practical competency.
 
Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT) is a recognised clinical practice framework that supports safe and effective aseptic technique across healthcare settings. It is used to maintain asepsis during invasive procedures and when handling equipment or sites that must remain sterile, reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
 
This program provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to apply ANTT safely and consistently in clinical practice, aligned with national infection prevention and control standards, the NSQHS Standards, and organisational policies.
 
This course is suitable for nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals, including agency, contract, and casual staff who are required to demonstrate competency in aseptic technique. It is also appropriate for clinicians performing procedures involving invasive devices, wound care, or any activity requiring aseptic technique, as well as organisations seeking to ensure workforce compliance with infection prevention standards.
 
Participants will develop the ability to define and apply ANTT principles, identify critical sites and aseptic fields, select and prepare appropriate equipment, and maintain asepsis during procedures. The course also covers recognising and responding to breaches in aseptic technique and demonstrating competency within a simulated clinical environment.
 
Learning is delivered through a self-paced online module, allowing flexibility, followed by a face-to-face practical assessment where participants demonstrate applied skills. An online knowledge assessment must be completed prior to attending the practical session.

On completion, participants will have the skills and confidence to apply a structured, standardised approach to aseptic technique, supporting safe clinical practice and reducing infection risk, while meeting employer and regulatory compliance requirements.
